Hi Lee,
I got your post about practices that can help. There are a number of forms of chanting the nembutsu that we use and also chants to quan shi yin - these can be very helpful. We have some on ning from the 24 hour nembutsu retreat and you may be able to track a recording of the quan shi Yin chant which we broadcast from london some weeks ago.
There is also our morning contemplation session - Nei quan which is followed by Chi quan. Put simply in Nei quan we sit with 3 questions for about 10 minutes - How have I been helped, how have I helped others, what trouble hasmy existence caused. We look over the last 24 hours in relation to the questions, sometimes looking at examples near at hand, sometimes further afield eg the number of creatures killed in producing or transporting our food. Then we follow by a little verse repaeated 3 times - "Infinite light, be my delight, shine on me, an ordinary". then we do chih quan, here we make an offering of all we have found in Nei Quan to Amida and all the Buddhas, bodhisattvas and wise beings, making a gift of ourselves just as we are for the good of the universe and allowing our little selves to feel the light of amida that shines on us. This also means that we can sometimes feel the alchemy of contrition that is a gateway towards the Pure Land. Namo amida bu

Hello Lee!
Glad to meet you here. Those are Blue Bonnets, the Texas state flower. They only bloom once a year if we are lucky, and this is the only place they grow. Hundreds if not thousands travel into the countryside to witness their appearance yearly!
Hope to hear more from you soon!
