Thanks Mogdala. Great to hear that the project has moved into the peoples hands. What was that project? Could you elaborate a bit? Were you living for a while in Zambia?

Dear Modgala, spoke with Orna and she has recommended that i ask you more about Amida in Africa, as well as about the Buddhist women conference. Could you please write a few lines? Send me a few links? Thanks

Dear Mogdala,
Thank you so much for contacting me way back when...
I apologize for answering so late. My computer went down right after I joined this group.
What an interesting life you have led and are leading. I've been tempted to join in the way you did. But I also realize that I HAVE joined, the larger mass of humanity, helping them to see more clearly and develop as human beings. Which takes up my life at the moment, the work is deep for me. I am a teacher at a highschool in Hawai'i to an American generation of somewhat lost and confused teens. It's only a phase in American culture, I am hoping and praying. :)

Thank you Modgala,
Meadowsweet is excellent, it is the inspiration herb for the common aspirin the main ingredient being salicylic acid. Used as the whole herb it does not cause the upset aspirin causes. The herb itself is mainly used for ulcers and fevers (M Grieve: A Modern Herbal). James Duke, Ph.D. (The Green Pharmacy) says not to use it if tinnitus bothers you (ringing of the ears), or any aspirin. Other herbs with this ingredient include willow bark, and wintergreen. I have willow bark around for when I might have a headache.
I've got to run, I have very little this weekend, Emilie Conrad is in town and I'm doing four days of Continuum, my spiritual practice, it is my time to totally dissolve and be revived.
My best,
Julene

Hello Modgala,
Sound healing can help aritritis, do a long exhale HE sound low in the throat and hold the area, vibration of bones & joints will help them regenerate. The sound work (audible breath work) I do comes from Continuum movement, it is my spiritual practice. Emilie Conrad is the founder. I'm looking forward to next weekend when I do a four day Continuum intensive. It works at a cellular level and gives me back so much health and energy.
I'm very curious about the herbs you are using, as well as the one your friend learned about for HIV. I recently talked with a Naturopath who had been to Africa. He wants to do studies on a plant that people were using when he was there. He did not tell me the name but I was trying to connect him to a source for research. Please have your friend contact me or send me the name when you remember what it is and the opportunity.
Thank you so much, Julene

Hello,
Thank you for your warm welcome.
Green witch does not equal pagan. Rather, I'm a self studied lay herbalist, so it has to do with communion with plants. I make my own medicines and cook/eat foods in the wise woman tradition. I studied with Susun Weed in Woodstock, NY. These days I'm writing, which has me in front of the computer more than with the plants in the wild!
