Hi Mina, I have sent a couple of e mails to your e mail address but I am not sure if you received them. I was suggesting that we meet at the Starbucks in on Lakeshore where the Cooper's grocery store is located. You mentioned in one note which I can't find now that you would like Ian your caregiver to come along. that would be fine with me, I originally suggested meeting tomorrow Tuesday at 10:30. It is probably a bit late to firm that up now but I will check my e mail in the morning. Maybe next Tuesday would work better. All the best.Michael. Namo Amida Butsu.
Hi Mina, thank you for replying to my comment. If you wanted to go to the temple to attend a service or come to the sutra chanting and book study either my wife or I would be more than willing to give you a ride. The regular schedule at the temple commences again next month and the news letter should be out soon. We live in the upper mission at 416 West Ave. Our phone # is 250-763-0764. I look forward to hearing from you. Michael. Namo Amida Butsu. p.s. One of my goals is to set up an Amida group in Kelowna. I am some what nervous about this because my computer skills are quite limited. any way if you have any thoughts regarding this idea I would certainly welcome them
Hi Mina, I like yourself come from a Catholic background. My wife and I still occassionally play music in Charles Garnier church in Kelowna. We are both members of the Pureland Buddhist Temple in Kelowna which is located at the corner of Borden and Gordon. There is also a website for the temple the web site is kelownabuddhisttemple.org The Sensei at the temple Rev. Yashiro Miyakawa is a good treacher of Pure Land Buddhism. At present we are engaged in a bookstudy of David Brazier's book "Who loves dies well". We read a section each morning (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) before we do our sutra chanting.I ope this information will be of use to you. Michael. Namo Amida Butsu

Welcome to the Amida Trust's ning! Thank you for your several comments to my blogs. I somehow empathize with you, as I am partially deaf, and now suffer from glaucoma (I have one good eye to see out of). I wish you well as you seek out Amida Buddha on this path. There are several hybrid Christian-buddhists in this ning, and while I remain neutral and tolerant of other religions, it is good that you are exploring Pureland buddhism.
