We are happy to tell you that yesterday, on Friday 31 July 2009 (beginning at 15:00 in the afternoon), we conducted a full (2 hours long) Pureland Service. As far as we know, this one has been the first Amida- Shu service to have taken place here in Israel.
Six women attended the service, so together we were 8. Orna was the bell master and Yaakov was the celebrant.

While helping the Sudanese refugees, I find myself surrounded by goodness and generosity of many people.
Personal friends help a lot. They contribute money and other necessary things.

Dear friends

One aspect of my work with the Sudanese refugees is to get to know them and to hear their stories. I believe it is important to let them tell their stories, to write it down and in this way to enable others to hear it too.
I got permission from the people whose stories I tell here.

I would like to share with you a very meaningful experience I am going through.

During the last several months I have been trying to help Sudanese refugees who found themselves in Israel, as the last station of their terrifying escape from Sudan.
They were granted by the Israeli government the right to stay in the country, as war refugees, after sneaking through the Egyptian- Israeli border, and also some basic rights like medical care and education for the children.
