- I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer that sort of question given that I've not been to either Pure Lands.
However, as a dull and ignorant fool I think I can say that chanting the Nembutsu is by far the easiest practice that I can do. And I benefit greatly in this life knowing that I am saved and loved and accepted by Amida Buddha which I suppose leads me to believe that I will benefit in a way that is unforeseen and unimaginable after I die.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.
After reading the sutra, my impression was that this passage was very much an assurance that the group of followers listed on p.29 would attain rebirth in the Pureland and if there was any uncertainty then they would receive even more help from a group of eight who could show them the way to attain rebirth. So it could be that there are those for whom doubt is a big hindrance but not to worry - there is more help available to them if they want to be reborn and yet feel uncertain.
My general understanding is that anyone who recites the name of Amida at least once with a pure heart is assured of rebirth in the Pure Land and so faith that this is so is important.
