Thank you both. There are abviously different aspects to your posting and I'm not going to get into debating Krishnamurti's status, but what you are saying about observation and stepping back to get a bigger picture certainly sits well with Buddhi...

Stories and Rupas

Day two of the course block. Our student group is bigger than its been for a while, and lively discussion of the basic principles of other-centred work keeps us in serious engagement through large and small group sessions interspersed with demonstrations and counselling exercises. The principle that, since the mind is conditioned by the object of attention (basic Abhidharma principles), holding the client's attention on the objects in their world and encouraging a deeper, more respectful engagem… Continue

Autumn course block

As the afternoon wears on and the sun dips lower in the sky it gets distinctly chilly. Not so good for our overseas students! The autumn course block always comes at that time of year when things are on the turn and sunny golden September days have faded into damp October. Nevertheless this lunchtime the sun came out and we enjoyed lunch in the garden.

It looks to be the start of a good year. New students have swelled our numbers so we had 22 participants in the room this morning, with a number… Continue

Order Meeting

A group of ten of us raise our joined palms and sing, drawing back in a graceful dance, hearts opening with the gentle harmonies. The Order meeting comes to an end. Four intense days in which we have all shared moments of joy and struggle, in which new forms have emerged and our resolution has strengthened reach conclusion.

It is hard to believe that the Order is now eleven years old and maturing. Many of us have taken this path together seeing so many twists and turns along the way. It is wond… Continue

Hello Prasada,
I'm enjoying your 'Listening to the Other' book immensely - very challenged by it. I reallise how unaware I am of people's differences, and how dissmissive of people I am.......Its so easy to get one-sided in one's views of issues and personalities.....

Hello Caroline,

Hope you are well. I picked up a leaflet today about a psychology conference called "landscapes of the mind" taking place at the Eden project in Cornwall in September. It seems to link psychological health with our relationship with nature. I remembered the recent courseblock about "green therapy" and thought this might be of interest to you. Here is the link:

Thank you for taking the time to meet with Generva and myself when we visited the Buddhist house despite the fact that you were feeling under the weather. your directions to Oxford were easy to follow and we arrived in good time to meet with my cousin. In all the England trip was very successful, re connecting with family and having some time to site see. My cousin in Surrey who had the brain surgery is now at home and recovering well.. I hope that all is well with you and David. All the vbest Michael.

Hey, So good to hear from you again! Its like getting in touch with family you havent seen in awhile! I've always held a lot of love and friendship in my heart for you and David and those I have met through the Buddhist house. Yes, I was thinking it would be great to get up to the Buddhist House and see you one trip back. In the fall I am hoping to have a little extra time so maybe something would be possible then. After three years of living back in the USA Lindsey decided she wanted to do her "high school" years back with her old friends in England. So Mark lives and works mainly in UK and Rhiannon and I live mostly in US and we travel back and forth getting to spend time as a family every month or two. As you can imagine that is a whole story in itself! But we have all settled into things now and work at maintaining a balance between family needs and individual pursuits/ needs. And for the most part it works really well. Anyway, I'm going to have a look round the site and hopefully make some connections. Love to see that some one has a kids discussion board. I am going to encourage the girls to join. Please keep in touch. Would love to hear how you are as well!
Love, Heather
