I am now out of the hospital and feeling well. I'm sorry that you could not contact me. I was being protected from reporters and the police. I am unavailable right now as I am in retreat at a hermitage, without telephone, and have once a week email access for two more weeks, then none at all. We strictly follow the 3 months rains retreat of the Buddha.

I hope you are well. Thank you for your well wishes.

As I am not only a Pure Land Priest but also am involved with academical research in Chinese and Japanese Pure Land Buddhism, I would like to ask you a question if you allow me. I have been trained in the japanese tradition of Honen and Shinram and my research has been much centered in the understanding of Shan Tao and its difference from later, and specially Ming Dinasty exegesis. I would be very grateful for you if you can teach me something about Vietnamese undestanding of the Pure Land, as well as its so called "syncretism" with Zen.
