Profile Information

About Me:
The person I perceive my self to be is an aging man at home teaching three children in homeschool, exploring the meaning of life, discovering Truth, considering the words of great individuals including and especially The Buddha. This person is rough-edged, kind-hearted, pacifist, respectful and loving. This person lacks discipline. This person is outspoken and opinionated, struggles with judgmentalism though quick and eager to forgive. This person seeks only Truth. Nothing more. This person appreciates beauty in a child's hug, a kind smile, a sunrise, a soft-spoken voice, the teachings of Gautama. This person--the one I call "me"--considers friendship with members of the Amida Trust an honor and a blessing!

As 2008 draws to a close it's time for redirection and new understanding. The choice has been made to leave all yesterdays behind and move towards life in Buddha alone. There lies the answers sought, the purpose desired, the inspiration hoped for and the fulfillment needed.

The year of Mom

Has it been since June?

From June 23 (my wife and my 30th Anniversary and the day my mom had a cancerous kidney removed) 'till today it's been the year of mom.

I'm sitting in her hospital room. She's completely out of her head and recovering from surgery to deal with a blocked intestine.

I'm blurry eyed from being here 20 hours or so.

Not very clear of mind but what I know more now than ever is that I love Gautama Buddha and his teachings and hope for the day they become a part of me much more than they have yet.

Buddha is the answer I've been looking for. What comfort!

Hi Ted,

Hope the New Year has started off well. We're in the middle of a cold snap - something that probably rarely happens in Texas.

Hello Ted! SO very happy to see you and find you here. Please accept my invitation to become friends, and we will see what unfolds. I can see already that we have commonalities that will support a new creation in relatedness.

Thanks, Dharmavidya! I'm getting "warmed up" to jump in. I pretty-much dropped out of everything last fall and am working on catching up. The pain in my shoulder / arm became very bad and the dr prescribed Acet./Codiene. A few months on that made me pretty wacky. Had to get off them to redirect my head. Then in January we took our kids out of public school and now teach them at home. The school system here is terrible. They were learning nothing. So, that's been taking my time.

I have missed our conversation and thought of you often. We're in the midst of re-arranging things here and I hope to soon get back to the comp for some serious "jumping in." Ha.

Have a terrific week! Bless you my friend!
