Prasada, Thank you for presenting your paper on 'Buddhism and Psychotherapy'. As a psychologist I found it to be very readable and an excellent offering of buddhist perspectives related to 'mental health'. I am sure it will be a valuable resource ...
In my mid-fifties and a father of two grown children and among other things, twenty five years as a psychologist. I smile a great deal and stay physically active. I have been a Buddhist practitioner for thirty years.
I have studied Buddhism from Theravada to Vajrayana and Dzogchen is my current study. I enjoy sharing time with others that are trying to improve their own minds in awareness. I have been fortunate to learn that love and compassion are the highest values I can hold .
Beyond that I will leave the definition of me to others. Peace.

Hi Stanley. Good to have your comments on the paper. My only memories of Detroit were in the very early morning on a Greyhound bus crossing the US frontier as we tried to get to Chicago from Ontario in the 1998 ice storm! Not its best face I'm sure. Hope we meet up sometime. I'm afraid we don't come too close to you on our forthcoming US trip (January/February) though you'd be very welcome at any of the public events - we'll post a schedule soon. Great to be in touch - Caroline
Hi Stanley,
good to hear about your travel plans. At present I do not have any plans made -
A friend of mine is going to attend a wedding and I still to check about the date and make my plans. (I will keep in touch about this.) I will go at the same time as she does, but intend to stay after she returns. This may be in November.
So as you can see, I am very well organized!
"And I know that attempting to be 'centered' can help in many situations, and my efforts to be 'centered' and 'aware' has helped me in many situations as I am sure it helped me as a parent. But to seek out parenthood in order to become 'centered' ... well that one I'm not so sure about."
Thank you for that and yes it would be great to keep in touch
Thank you for your message. I hope that you and your family are well.
Looking at life yeah, well I can tell you it has been one kind of a journey that one, very difficult at the beggining of but now the process unfolds with some greater ease. So thank you, yes.
I see you are a family man. I think about that often lately. I am single but I wonder how it would be to be a father? Would you say that being a family man helps you in staying centred and in touch with what you consider to be important in life?
You said you would welcome my thoughts on the "above topic" which topic is that? Your travel to India?
Hello Stanley,
If you do come to this region, there are many lovely Buddhist Retreat Centers in Malaysia..where you can stay and practice vippasana meditation. Feel free to keep in touch when you come. Warm wishes.
Hi!
Haha and that is a good way of putting it too. But that’s pretty much how I feel about Buddhism. It is my balance and my focus. Even though the teachings and views are never far from my thoughts, I look forward to being able to immerse my self more in the practice of the Dharma
Well… off to work I go, take care and hope you have a good day!
Hello Stanley. I'm very drawn to your 'About me' section above.
As an aside, I visited Detroit twice in 1978 and stayed in Birmingham. Trying to find meditation space with a group of frineds in the, at that time, fairly new Ren Cen was an adventure. Very nearly relocated to Birmingham but no, here I still am, in the UK
