I had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I finally found romance with a friend who I have known for most of the time I have lived on my boat as we are neighbours. So, our Christmas and New Year were very special. As we live next door to a pub/restaurant we spent most of the holidays there having our Chrismas lunch and at a New Years Eve party - which just happened to be my birthday too.
I've been doing a lot of walking around the area. Last weekend spent three hours in Wicken Fen…

Hello everyone, at last I'm back. It's been some time since I was able to access Friends of Amida due to restrictions at work. I don't have internet at home you see. I am amazed that I have got in so hope to be able to keep getting in.
I've been keeping very busy this year. I began painting my boat in September but ran out of good weather so it's only half painted at the moment. Better to be half painted than not painted at all. Sitting on the roof with a sander in my hand…

This week has been a busy one. I spent a couple of days cat-sitting for my friend Ken, looking after Talullah. At first she wasn't sure about me even though I'd looked after her before, however by the second evening she was snuggled up with me on the settee in front of the TV and nestling her head in my neck. Ahhh. In the morning we played hide and seek in the garden, her farourite game, which basically consists of Talullah racing about in the bushes and jumping out at you when you least…

What a week it's been. I almost ran 2 people over the other evening. Not just the once, but TWICE! They stepped out in front of me and then later did the same again.
Life on the marina is as daft as ever. Clipboard Roger dropped his clipboard which was subsequently run over. He gets his name due to the fact that he carries a clipboard around with him, making notes on all things that disagree with him (there are many). His main gripe is how much electricity he is using and he…

I can't believe that I have been away from Friends of Amida for so long! Basically the main reason is that I changed my job and as I don't have internet access at home I tend to rely on it at work but my new employers had blocked "social networking". However, I seem to now be able to "social network" again. I believe this could be a mistake on the part of our IT team but I'm not telling them!
I am working on getting internet at home but as I live on a boat in the middle of…

I just read with much interest what Satya and Kaspa have experienced in their e-course. It is very much in keeping with our traditions to trust rather than request needed food, shelter, finance but…Continue

Europe seems essentially divided between countries with a mediterannean coast and those without. Economic depression is here now; unemployment in Spain and Greece at nearly 30% already exceeds…Continue
