Profile Information

About Me:
A life-long "dabbler" with religion. I keep coming back to some form of Buddhism.

I taught religious education in state secondary schools for 17 years, but left after becoming disillusioned. Since then I have worked on the railways as a conductor, spent a year working on a Welsh smallholding and since 2006 have worked with animals. I am currently caretaker at the ABC Animal Sanctuary in West Sussex.

I'm single, but find much time taken up with my two dogs: a German Shepherd and a Doberman. Woof!
Faith Background & Affiliation
I grew up in a conservative Evangelical Christian environment. Studying Theology for my degree put paid to my Christian faith and I developed an interest in Buddhism. This has been "on and off" for about 30 years. I never have managed to establish a daily meditation practice, and the lesser emphasis on this in Shin Buddhism is one reason I'm interested!
Occupation or Primary Activity
Caretaker at an animal sanctuary.

Welcome, Peter! I hope you find things that are helpful here - do ask if you have any questions. There's a lovely introductory course to Pureland Buddhism if you're interested. Namo Amida Bu.
