Short Biography

I have been an on and off Buddhist practitioner since about 1996 when I started searching for a more meaningful spirituality.  Between 1996 to 2004 I took numerous classes at the Halifax Shambhala Centre and Nalandabodhi.  I took refuge vows in 1998.

Recently I have begun to feel a connection with Jōdo Shinshū and I have been on the lookout for ways to deepen my understanding.

I retired in 1996 after returning to work after a brush with cancer.  My working career was split with the first half in marine acoustics and the second half as an administrator in education.

I am married with a daughter and son, a granddaughter; two stepdaughters, another five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

I'm learning Taiji with some success and I'm also trying to learn to play the keyboard with very limited success.  I live in a seniors building (not a home for seniors LOL) and I organize playing soft-tip darts twice a week for 18 residents.

My wife Bernice and I live in Dartmouth, across the harbour from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
