Hope you had a good last day with the Dalai Lama. It was lovely to see you.
By the way, would you be interested in pre-viewing the Listening Skills book and even giving a short cover comment (one liners fine)??? I'll certainly make sure you get a pre-view copy anyway, but that won't be out for a while.
Alison, well those are a few names to dwell upon! Yes, I believe Peter Harvey is or was involved with Samatha Trust. The MA was very good in fact. The taught material was of a very detailed nature, the interaction with other students (via the website) was good if not a little sterile as often is the case with distance learning. Was it the material that you didn't like or perhaps the structure or personalities? What's Gethin like to work with, I ask because I did wonder about PhD supervision possibilities with Bristol. Isn't Williams a Catholic now? Mark
Hi Mark,
Nope, mine was from Bristol University with Paul Williams, Rupert Gethin, John Peacock and Rita Langer. I think I may have met Peter Harvey at some point because I used to be involved with the Samatha Trust, but I don't really remember. How did you like the MA? I remember just looking at descriptions of the two courses that they seem quite different. I do wonder if I might have fared better if I'd taken up distance learning from Sunderland rather than going to Bristol as I didn't really enjoy that year very much.

That's fine. Do come and stay on 27th - thats Tuesday isn't it? We'll look forward to seeing you. What sort of time? Will you want to join us to eat? (we usually eat at 6.00 but can save some if we know you'd like it)
Sujatin, nice to speak to via the web. I too trust that we can meet up at some time in the future, I'm sorry to read that your illness limits your ability to travel around as much. I truly wish you well and trust that you will maintain a good health.
Hi Mark - welcome - looking forward to meeting you one of these days, though I'm based oop north in Newcastle and don't travel as much as I used to (M.E. limits me a bit).
no I'm still in England. The photos are from last year and year before, but I don't suppose it has changed. Susthama is out there at present with two others.
I'm writing too - a book on counselling skills from Buddhist perspective. 8000 words done (but not as erudite as a thesis!!!!)! Good luck.
