Profile Information

About Me:
getting older I am happier, this is what spirituality is all about....I try to transmit to my students and clients how easy it is to be you, even there is no self...enjoying helping others, creativity, travels and painting.
Reconnected with my old passion Latin America, I suppose in these challenging changes it is good to be alive and be able to help still....My extended family it tibetan nepalese since forever my daughter and granddaughters are from a refugee camp in India and Milano born...my dogs are nepalese, my sister is dutch. I was born without nationality as bolivian, french in Leiden Netherlands and remained a homeless with so many houses to clean. Suitable profile for a buddhist. At this stage I might become a real nun but it is ok like this happy and busy lifestyle. Taking care of others and always remembering in 'the crisis' what it is all about...not materialism but breathe you are alive!
Faith Background & Affiliation
Studied with Amida, tibetan dharma previously and simultaneously
Occupation or Primary Activity
managing my own project in Kathmandu Nepal between 2 villages helping people
Involvement in Spirituality/Religion
Living near Kopan Monastery enjoying working with very spiritual people since a long time, practice gets stronger over the years, as fruits are so palpable. Have built 2 homes in Kathmandu, one to share with other practicioners, another one where my 'sons' study and live, so between retreats and samadhi there is the extended spiritual family.
Amida Kai remained, otherwise I am part of Mahayana tradition centres.
What is your interest in Amida Trust
working extensively in the east it is good to relate to western ways as well...Dharmavidya is an inspiring thinker, the books always helped me transition between my intuition of where I was heading and the old ways.
I am a former revolutionary, worked over a decade in Latin America, have this fondness for the poor and the vernacular. Was a journalist most of my life as well as translator. Thanks to the Trust and FPMT friends I am integrating spirituality and reality.
How did you find this web site?
always knew it
What country are you living in?

What is the nearest town to where you live? If in UK, please give first half of your postcode. Thank you.
amsterdam 1078 bv

Hi,

Erg mooi allemaal.

Groetjes, Gerald

Our small but lovely Birmingham group met at Adrian's house on Saturday afternoon. As always with this group, to meet like this reminded us all what a wonderful thing it is to be able to practise…Continue

enlightened or bombu?

Started by Thomas Myojo Radcliffe in Buddhist Teaching. Last reply by Robert McCarthy May 7. 9 Replies

Zen is clear that we are essentially enlightened beings. Pureland insists that we are hopelessly deluded. Both seem to me to be true. On the one hand the mind with all it's contradictions,…Continue

Other-power or Zazen?

Started by Dr Di in Amida Trust & Amida-shu Development. Last reply by Thomas Myojo Radcliffe May 5. 19 Replies

I see Amida Trust bringing the 2 together, or are they mutually exclusive? ie the here and now focus on breath of Zazen implies continuity and oneness, whereas the 'other- power' of Amida can be seen…Continue

The prison of the question of "liking or not liking"

Started by Katrien Sercu in Amida Trust & Amida-shu Development. Last reply by Robert McCarthy Apr 30. 9 Replies

It is surprising how a question, which was a step forwards earlier in life becomes an ennoying limitation that, in good moments, can evoke a smile in me as it is really a funny and stupid question.…Continue
