Hi Lynn. I am also very interested to hear about all the things you learn about Buddhism as a temple wife. I think its something unique and many people would love to hear more in a blog. I would certainly buy a book on that topic too!

Hello Lynn, it was very nice meeting you and Jin in Tokyo and I'm very pleased that you have joined us here so we can keep in touch. We shall all be very interested in your experiences as a temple-wife-in-training. On this site you will see that you have a blogging facility - if you would like to put down your experiences from time to time there will be plenty of people here interested to read them. Namo Amida Bu. Warm wishes to you both.

Hello Lynn, I'm a Minister with the Amida Order and live in Newcastle upon Tyne in the N.E. of England. I'm Buddhist Chaplain at both the universities in the city....and just about to go out and hold an evening meeting at one of the students' halls of residence. I hope you'll make many friends and good, supportive connections here.

Our small but lovely Birmingham group met at Adrian's house on Saturday afternoon. As always with this group, to meet like this reminded us all what a wonderful thing it is to be able to practise…Continue

enlightened or bombu?

Started by Thomas Myojo Radcliffe in Buddhist Teaching. Last reply by Robert McCarthy May 7. 9 Replies

Zen is clear that we are essentially enlightened beings. Pureland insists that we are hopelessly deluded. Both seem to me to be true. On the one hand the mind with all it's contradictions,…Continue

Other-power or Zazen?

Started by Dr Di in Amida Trust & Amida-shu Development. Last reply by Thomas Myojo Radcliffe May 5. 19 Replies

I see Amida Trust bringing the 2 together, or are they mutually exclusive? ie the here and now focus on breath of Zazen implies continuity and oneness, whereas the 'other- power' of Amida can be seen…Continue

The prison of the question of "liking or not liking"

Started by Katrien Sercu in Amida Trust & Amida-shu Development. Last reply by Robert McCarthy Apr 30. 9 Replies

It is surprising how a question, which was a step forwards earlier in life becomes an ennoying limitation that, in good moments, can evoke a smile in me as it is really a funny and stupid question.…Continue
