I would like to ask your attention for what Ida (my ex) has produced. I would not recommend such a 'product' in my spiritual friends circle, were it not that I happen to know the producer very well and moreover I know her philosophy and spirituality. Very special!
Basically Ida offers a special guided meditation/sound practice. In contradistinction however with methods that use sound or music to 'deepen' one's meditation or brings one in a mellow mood, in this practice people…

Recently I was reading in a book about Honen (one of the founding fathers of PureLand Buddhism) about his unique practice of singing, vocalising the Nembutsu. Before Honen there were practises in which one repeated the name of Amida and other Deities silently for oneself. This can be called: contemplative Nembutsu.
Honen succeeded in establishing a practice that one could call a shamanic one: circumambulating a Buddha statue and singing "Namo Amida Bu": I call upon Amida Buddha.…

Below this I want accompany my BEST WISHES for each of you by a photo of a little shrine I made in the woods near Amida France. It's under one of the majestic old oaks along the Medieval Road.

Enjiy it! Katrien

Zen is clear that we are essentially enlightened beings. Pureland insists that we are hopelessly deluded. Both seem to me to be true. On the one hand the mind with all it's contradictions,…Continue

I see Amida Trust bringing the 2 together, or are they mutually exclusive? ie the here and now focus on breath of Zazen implies continuity and oneness, whereas the 'other- power' of Amida can be seen…Continue

It is surprising how a question, which was a step forwards earlier in life becomes an ennoying limitation that, in good moments, can evoke a smile in me as it is really a funny and stupid question.…Continue
