Our small but lovely Birmingham group met at Adrian's house on Saturday afternoon. As always with this group, to meet like this reminded us all what a wonderful thing it is to be able to practise…Continue

Zen is clear that we are essentially enlightened beings. Pureland insists that we are hopelessly deluded. Both seem to me to be true. On the one hand the mind with all it's contradictions,…Continue

I see Amida Trust bringing the 2 together, or are they mutually exclusive? ie the here and now focus on breath of Zazen implies continuity and oneness, whereas the 'other- power' of Amida can be seen…Continue

It is surprising how a question, which was a step forwards earlier in life becomes an ennoying limitation that, in good moments, can evoke a smile in me as it is really a funny and stupid question.…Continue

Dear Kazuo,
Thank you very much for your warm email. We were glad to hear from you.
I composed a long letter with details about our journey to Japan, however the space of the comment in this ning website is limited and I could not send this to you. So I thought I can give you here my private email address:

If you it is convenient for you, you can send me a short message from your email address, and then I can reply to you in more details about our stay etc.

Dear Vimalashri,
Welcome to Japan! And I'm very admired and glad to your attending for the celebrations.
I could be with you on the last week in March. I could take you to Honen's birth place. At that time David will visit and attending the celebrations. Osawa mieko and her colleague and me will invite him to some places, Matsue, Kyoto and Nagano. The celebration will be on 18th (Monday) in Kyoto. I think you also could join the events. His stay will be 12th to 18th in April. Have you contacted with David? If not yet, you had better to contact him.
I also let Mieko know about your visiting. She will be join us.
I would like to hear about your plan more. Where will you stay in Kyoto?

Kazuo
Dear Kazuo,
A few months ago Susthama wrote us about you.
So we are happy to be in contact with you now.
Both of us, my wife Pundarika and myself, are ordained Pure Land priests of Amida Trust. We live in Israel. We have decided to visit Japan for the 800th memorial celebrations for Honen`s death, which will be held in Kyoto in April 2011.
We will be staying in Kyoto from March 27th until about April 22nd 2011. We will be very happy if we could meet you and also if possible, to visit the Mimasaka University which as we understand from your Amida ning page is located in Honen`s birthplace.
We will be very glad to hear from you and if possible to meet you.
Thank you

Thank you for commenting my page I'm sorry my response is so delayed. Yes I am spending my time with yes-feeling. Sometime I feel sad, angry, disappointed. Even so I have yes-feeling (sorry my foreigner special English) in myself. My special counsellor is Amida Buddha.
Sorry, I forgot it. The date is "29 Aug. 2001". He presented it in " 8th International Person-Centered Approach Forum in Japan. " This English version is not published. Japanese version is published already. I will put the date on it and upload on this ning's group, "Shin-shu counselling."
Hope you are well.
I just wondered if you had a reference for the paper of Gisho Saiko's which you gave out in your workshop. It is called A Dharma-based Person-centred Approach in Japan by Gisho Saiko , but there is not date. Was it published? Where was it presented? It would be very helpful as I'd like to quote it in my next book
All best wishes
Caroline
