I understand your feeling overwhelmed by the variety of Buddhist traditions. What I have encountered so far I find interesting, but don't always agree, which is something that seems to be encouraged in Buddhism anyways...thinking and coming to your own decisions. I've taken the route of Pureland Buddhism myself, as I find it makes the best sense to me. But, I'm certain I'll be questioning and learning until my time ends...if not, I think something would be not as it should :)
