NY Times Article: Philosophy and Faith

I just read an article in the New York Times on the interesting topic "philosophy and faith." The author discusses the basis of beliefs and points out how, from a philosophical standpoint, neither the theists' nor atheists' standard arguments regarding God's existence or non-existance prove what they claim to prove. However, this does not have to lead to agnosticism; "everyday life is based on “basic” beliefs for which we have no good arguments. There are, for example, no more basic truths from…See More

It's Monday evening and me, Sumaya, and Zee-Zee have just finished listening to the Sutra study broadcasted from the Buddhist House. On Wednesday we go to St Amand to pick up Massimo at the train station, all very much anticipating his arrival. We've been here for three weeks now, cleaning, caring for the site, but most of all working in the garden. It's coming along nicely: the radishes are well on their way, but also the rocket, peas, spinach, carrots, and beets are popping up right where we…See More

enlightened or bombu?
