The Five Precepts of Buddhist Thought

This graphic novel is the first in a series of mangas designed to explore Buddhist thought. It is written to be simple and modern allowing the reader to make quick connections between Buddhist ideas and their relevance to the reader's own daily life.  It is intended for both those completely new to Buddhism and for those already familiar it.www.buddhistmanga.comSee More

SUMMER TEACHINGS: Love is the Life You Already Have at Amida France

We ourselves sometimes find ourselves in accord with love and sometimes not. What is the life one already has? What is love? In what can we take refuge? It is easy to denigrate or to idealize, but what is real? As we proceed on the spiritual path love seems ever more present and ever more impossible. Our own incapacity…See More

The Waterfall

Yesterday I took my daughter Rhiannon down to the Presumpscot Water Preserve which is only a minute or two from the house...We often like to walk through there and take picnics by the waterfall. As we sat there having our lunch I was very moved by the illusion of the waterfall. As if it were a "thing". Of course all "things" are illusions and constantly changing... transforming from moment to moment. But the waterfall is able to illustrate that lesson so much more clearly than other "things"-…See More
