Self-reflection, Gratitude and Power Steering

Posted on November 2, 2009 at 19:34 0 Comments

You and I woke up this morning. Congratulations to both of us! A lot had to happen to get us through the night. Our mitochondria were on duty, our cell walls held up, our hearts kept the beat all night long and countless other precise and complex processes occurred while “we” slept. We were also protected from the elements and from both human and animal intruders. How many people helped to create this shelter that we slept in?

For many of us this is the Thanksgiving season and, if… Continue

Celebrating our Interdependence

On Saturday, the U.S. will celebrate Independence Day. But perhaps we should be celebrating our Interdependence.

I've posted a short (10min) podcast in the Internet Library of… Continue

Spiritual guidance for coping with economic crisis

Posted on May 19, 2009 at 14:20 0 Comments

The ToDo Institute recently put our journal:

Thirty Thousand Days: A Journal for Purposeful Living

in digital form for the first time using Issuu. There is something that I thought might be of interest to the Ning members. We asked several spiritual leaders to provide some guidance to people who are trying to cope with the economic crisis. We published their responses on pages 11 and 15. I think… Continue

Hi Gregg,

I am still trying to get into ...prison. Ha ha . As we already talked about to get naikan into a dutch prison. Maybe in the next months I have a more picture of the system and the possibilities.

Hi Gregg, nice to meet you here also. Hope all is ok. As with the former posting of Susthama, I think besides the States the Netherlands are also ready to hear more from ToDo. I hope I can see you next summer for the certification block and in the meantime on the very interesting and inspiring long distance web courses.

enlightened or bombu?

Zen is clear that we are essentially enlightened beings. Pureland insists that we are hopelessly deluded. Both seem to me to be true. On the one hand the mind with all it's contradictions,…Continue

Other-power or Zazen?

The prison of the question of "liking or not liking"
