Hi, Susthama, good to see you too. Is there a particular reason why you chose this group to which I could be of help to you?
I was so please to find a spaniard here, so... I couldn't help but to free myself and write those loooong Spanish messages;…
La ce con la a, ca; la pe con la i, pi; la elle con la a, lla: ca-pi-lla... Mi-ma-má-me-a-ma...
I used to be an environmental biologist, but a few years in China have totally changed my life. Well, I'm unsure of what to say about me... Nowadays I am only enganged in working and studying, sort of thing, and being quite a lonely one. I am doing a Phd in History of Tibetan Religion, and so I seldom have time for anything apart from work and study. I guess what these years have brought about is to change birds, trees and flowers for a big mess of Tibetan, Spanish, English and Chinese languages, plus an investigation into Tibetan Bon ancient history... Bizarre...
Amida Membership
Not a member
Faith Background & Affiliation
None, really. Although I was technically a catholic (by my baptism when a baby), I disengaged totally from any religious activity at about 17 years old. Interested in buddhism in the last few years, I nevertheless was very much impacted by Batchelor's agnostic buddhism's concept, and I try to navigate in these rather difficult waters between a honest search of a spiritual path and a strong sense of agnosticism or schepticism
Occupation or Primary Activity
I work as translator and corrector at the Bureau of Translation of the Communist Party of China
Involvement in Spirituality/Religion
Since 2006, member of Namkhai Norbu's Dzogchen Community, although I remain almost totally dettached, living here in China. Also I have come to meet a few Bon masters here and, in 2008, in France.
What is your interest in Amida Trust
Living in China I badly need a meaningful exchange in a relatively open environment within Western buddhistm, in a language I can truely communicate (not like Chinese and Tibetan!!). Mainly about the sense of being a seeker in a Buddhist or Buddhist-like tradition, about practice, etc. And making Dharma friends. And about how to be more participant, I am trying to find a way out of my issolation here that helps me become a real participant in some real sense.
How did you find this web site?
I read both New Buddhism and Feeling Buddha, which both deply touched me, and I tried to do a little search in internet about Brazier's project.
