So - ten days continuous chanting. Why?
I completely failed to explain the reasons behind this event to my mum. And so I may fail here as well. But it feels important to try.
Yesterday, Kaspa & I joined everyone…

I wanted to say a huge thank you to Modgala, who supported me through a three day chanting retreat in the hut in Sukhavati. Three days in theory, although it felt more like three months at times ; ) Her spiritual guidance, structured presence and beautiful food (and hot water bottles!) made my journey possible. Namo-amida-bu-namo-amida-bu-namo-amida-bu.
And I also wanted to thank Jnanamati, Sumaya and Aramati for holding the practice schedule at TBH and welcoming me to the Sunday…

Mat Osmond said… Hi Fiona,
Thanks - and congratulations on your recent admission to the Order, I trust the experience was a good one!
1.30pm Thursday is indeed still good, though I should perhaps say in advance that I've only managed to continue with audio lectures/discussions around CAS, working every spare hour to a (potential) publication deadline in late December, and on a talk to give next Monday here.
But as always, much to ponder in these talks, and if you're good to speak still - rather than waiting until Jan when I may have more to show - I'll be here. I will catch up on your Vow 22 entries before hand if we go for it.
Speak soon,
all the best
Mat

I'm a new member and read some comments about you. You say you are a Pure Land Buddhist what do you mean? Another thing I noticed that some of the names sounds like Indian, are they Indian or adopting a new name for the club. You must be very busy so I won't take too much of your time. Please reply if you can e-mail me: robroy1933@gamil.com
Om santi. Robin Roy. I live in Herefordshire

Kay Mitchell said… Hi Fiona,
Thanks for your message.
yes I still find myself using Jnana and Simon interchagably, though I try!
I met Kaspa at TBH quite some time ago and send best wishes to you both.

Zen is clear that we are essentially enlightened beings. Pureland insists that we are hopelessly deluded. Both seem to me to be true. On the one hand the mind with all it's contradictions,…Continue

I see Amida Trust bringing the 2 together, or are they mutually exclusive? ie the here and now focus on breath of Zazen implies continuity and oneness, whereas the 'other- power' of Amida can be seen…Continue

It is surprising how a question, which was a step forwards earlier in life becomes an ennoying limitation that, in good moments, can evoke a smile in me as it is really a funny and stupid question.…Continue
