Dogen At Breakfast, Tuesday 1st March.

 Thick frost covered the ground this morning and the sun struggled and failed to break through the layers of morning cloud, denying my hopes of a sun filled celebration of the first day of spring. The cold only affects me for a few moments as I jump out of bed and into my warmest clothes and make a bee line for the stove, which fires up pretty quickly once you feed it. I'm an unemployed labourer with lots of hobbies and interests, including, music, electronic and acoustic, philosophy, metaphysics, psychology, quantum physics and anything else which stimulates my mind. Religion, especially Buddhism, plays a big part in my life after decades of illness brought me to Faith. I've recently been admitted into Amida Shu as an aspirant to the ministry and feel a deep affinity with Amida Buddha.

Home from home

SATURDAY 6 Feb



When I finally got to St Amand today, I was taken straight to the hospital to visit Dharmavidya. I was feeling tired but happy to be back. The sun was shining warmly, apparently for the first time in a while, making me feel welcomed and a sense of being in exactly the right place at the right time.

A Transmission.

I've been travelling now for the last 23hrs, with about another 4hrs to go. Mostly it's been a dissjointed, frustrating and at times demoralising drag. Confronted by rude sales assistants, hampered by noisy arrogant and aggressive passengers, and kept awake at unholy hours of the morning by snoring and the incessant clicks and clatters of earphone muffled music!
