Setting up and running local Amida groups

For anyone who's considering setting up a local Amida group in their area, and for people currently running local groups. A place to share expertise and resources, and for us to support each other.

The purpose of this group

I hope that this group will give us a space to talk about how we can develop local Amida groups - from the beginning where one person asks their friend to come round to their house and practice once a fortnight, to developing the group into something more organised.

It'd be wonderful if those who run local groups could add a post with their experience of starting/running their groups.

Do let me know what you'd like from this group, whatever stage you're at, and do invite anyone who you think might be interested in joining. I'm in the process of asking some more experienced members whether there are already resources that we could use here too.

Sujatin has created a new website to accompany this group where she'll post all kinds of resources... there are already some there now. Do join: http://lotusinthemud.typepad.com/amida_groups/

Ah, that explains it... glad you could fix it!

Dear all - it was brought to my notice that some of the links on http://lotusinthemud.typepad.com/amida_groups/ no longer worked. I discovered that the links were to a website that no longer exists! Fortunately, being a mixture between a magpie and a squirrel, I had picked up the shiny things (mostly writing from Dharmavidya) and saved them in various places on my computer or in my blog, so I've been able to add, relink or edit. Please let me know if you have any other difficulties with the site.

New invitation and guidelines sent, Prajna

Sujatin,

I deleted the web page invite as I thought these were one in the same.  Please send again.  Is my password for the web page the same as Tending the Lotus or do I need to re-join.  I typically don't use Typepad.

This is a great idea.
