Thanks a lot for putting this on. I really enjoyed the interview, especially the last sentence from Mark Unno, speaking about the word 'transform'; how "The passions don't become something else, they become more pungent. Pungent dharma. That's Shin Buddhism." I love that it's so freeing and real.

I agree with what you've written. So freeing and human indeed.. . sort of has echoes of the conditions in which a lotus flower grows.

And also, that the use of a word like pungent to describe a way of understanding what happens to the passions is typical of language that is found in Shin Buddhism.
