Dear Monty - I have sent you a message, signposting you to our new site (as this one is no longer in use) and introducing you to Reverend Prajnatara, who is in London, Ontario. Namo Amida Bu

Dear Dharma Friends,

I have recently created the following Facebook Group:

“Jōdo Shinshū/Jōdo-shū/Pure Land Buddhists of Atlantic Canada

I am not aware of any Jōdo Shinshū, Jōdo-shū, or Pure Land temples, organizations, or associations in Atlantic Canada.  I am hoping that by starting this Facebook group that enough Buddhists from these schools living in Atlantic Canada will join with the intent of eventually forming some meeting groups.”

If you have any Buddhist friends or relatives from these schools living in Atlantic Canada that may be interested, please let them know about this Facebook Group.

In Gassho,

Monty Pelletier

I'm wondering about your plans for Minaki this summer.

Hi, I live in Winnipeg Manitoba, so that's not far from Ontario. I am going to be in Toronto for a couple of days (Wed & Thurs) next week on my way to Roatan.
I also go sometimes for workshops in CranioSacral Therapy.

I would be interested in helping out, Dharmavidya. As you know I'm in Kitchener/Waterloo area.Tomorrow I'm attending a luncheon with a group of people who teach or are involved with mindfulness practices. I'll check for interest. Metta, Diane

This sounds good, Dharmavidya. I am in London, Ontario. We've been around for quite a while, about 20 years. Currently, we have access to a church, where we run numerous classes on Buddhism... everything from "Introduction to Buddhism" "Meditation for Stress and Anxiety", "Working with Anger Issues" and classes on "Animal Welfare and Vegetarianism". If we can be of any assitance, just let us know. You would be more than welcome to come to London and give a talk in 2010 or run a weekend course.. We have many people who would be interested.

One immediate value of a group like this is that if we can get everybody from Ontario to join it it provides an easy way to message all together. This can at least help us to keep up with any news or developments. We can also start discussions or share information here. Do invite people from your network who may be interested, whether or not they are members of Friends of Amida yet. Namo Amida Bu
