Some things are common to all Religions, those things once identified I like to call Global Ancestral Thought.

Global - for obvious reasons

Ancestral - Because the first thing I identified as common to ALL religions was repect for Ancestors

Thought - because it all happens ( at least initially) in the old grey matter, upstairs, in the main frame we call the brain.

I think we are really fortunate because in this time we can see 'World Religion' where as in the past poeple were confined to their own region and culture.(generally speaking)

What are some other common elements that exist in ALL Religions?

Another element that appears to exists in all Religions is the Monastic. Represented in many places by a Monastery or Abbey ( or similar), the Ascetic, the wanderer, also typified by positing “There is no greater love than to give one’s life” When you compare religions from a Monastic point of view it becomes clear how little difference there really is between Religions.

Sometimes I feel we are too hasty to dismiss the Monastic life, as maybe selfesh, or maybe as not engaging life "mortuary zen" and so on, There are also many contorversies to do with conduct in various ways. But because it is such a common element to religions I think it deserves great attention, there is a message in there, which has come down through the ages.
