Our Constitution is made up of a lot of documents that are within Common Law and Statute Law.
1. Magna Carta 1215/25
2. Treason Act 1351
3. Act of Supremacy 1534
4. Declaration of Rights 1689
5. Bill of Rights 1689
6. Treason and Felony Act 1848
It's a great subject actually and quite contested point - One view is that a new constitution is not needed because we have many rights ( that maybe even we are not aware of) A second view is that one document could serve. (serve who though, not sure yet?)
Personally I think that re-writing laws such as these is less than needed, and I dont think we know what we may be giving up.
..... and I dont think we know what we may be giving up.
With that thought in mind, the Magana Carta - Article 61 allows a Sovereign Citizen of England to enter into a Lawfull Rebellion which is a peaceful act but it also means that person becomes a free-man-on-the-land under civil law and is no longer subject to statatury law and a host of other things. Of course I am para-phrasing here more detailed info on this www.tpuc.org
If there is a new witten constitution do you think that the reason for it is to remove some of these legal loop holes in the law?--- ....there are more.
