Hi Everyone, I met some of you at the workshop held in Vancouver with David and Caroline in Jan 2009. I am looking forward to taking part in this group. I must confess however that I an not very comupter literate and so this will be somewhat of a vertical learning curve for me. I welcome any reponses. Namo Amida Bu.Michael.

Conrad supplied the following news item....

Hi Everyone. We had our scheduled meeting on April 8. Cecilia, Sara and I attended. Anne, Dayasiddhi, Eva, Roberta and Maggie indicated they could not make it. We chanted the nembutsu, meditated and had a discussion based on Thomas Merton’s book on Lao Tzu. We enjoyed some of the pithy and thought provoking vignettes. We laughed. We ended with a glass of Vino Tinto. Our next meeting is May 21st (3rd Thursday of the month) at 7PM and will be again be at 3136 west 8th avenue (Sara and Conrad’s) Please let me know if you intending to come. Cecilia is delving further into Thomas Merton’s book which we will discuss further at the upcoming meeting. Namo Amida Bu - Conrad

Hi Francine,

Thanks for joining the Amida BC group. We are a small but hearty group here in BC /western Canada. We recently began a practice group - chanting and sharing practice mainly - it has been very lovely. There are a number amongst us who have a counselling background. I have a background in law and the non-profit sector. I will send you a message asking to add you as a friend and we can also share more that way as well.

Hello, I live in Edmonton Alberta and have been interested in Budhism for some time both in Zen and in Dr. Steven Aung's medical Qi Gong. I have read two of Caroline and David Brazziers books and attended a couple of gatherings while they were in Vancouver in the past. I am retired and use to have my own couselling practice and would like once again to start up my practice with a more Buddhist view. It would be good to be in touch with people of similar mind sets. This is my first time belonging to any internet group and am unfamiliar with navigating around it. But I am working on it. Francine

happy new year to all from vancouver. we had some days with snow, but now is all back to normal... raining.
we are all looking for the visit of David and Caroline, and I am sure all the registrants will enjoy their teaching and experience in the various activities they will be proposing to us. those interested in any of the workshop, please follow the instructions for registration. see you soon,

One immediate value of a group like this is that if we can get everybody on FoA from BC to join it it provides an easy way to message all together. This can at least help us to keep up with any news or developments. We can also start discussions or share information here. Do invite people from your network who may be interested, whether or not they are members of Friends of Amida yet. Namo Amida Bu
